Laura Pile
Laura is a solicitor in our Commercial Litigation department.

Laura completed her law degree at Lancaster University and then went to the College of Law, Chester to complete her Legal Practice Course. She started her career at Myerson in 2007 as a trainee solicitor. She then qualified in 2009 as a solicitor and spent six months working in the company commercial department advising on commercial matters before moving to the commercial litigation team.
She currently advises on a range of disputes including property disputes, breach of contract claims, debt recovery matters, intellectual property disputes and franchise disputes.
The following matters have been highlights for Laura:
- Assisting in the reported case of Holland –v- Revenue and Customs and Anor (2010 UKSC 51) which included attending a two week trial in the High Court, a two day hearing in the Court of Appeal and a two day hearing in the Supreme Court.
- Assisting on a file to obtain a court-sanctioned search order and arranging for the simultaneous searches of a laboratory, office and residential property. This was a complex matter and involved allegations of breaches of restrictive covenants, misuse of confidential information, intellectual property infringement, theft and conspiracy. The searches were successful and the dispute was resolved favourably for our client.
- Acting on behalf of two defendants and conducting my own advocacy and successfully having claims struck out against them.
- Acting in relation to the reduction of a share premium account.
